Sincere sympathy to Paddy and all the Grennan family and Burke family also.

Mary was from home with me so I have known her all my life.Lost contact for a while as we all did our thing.Reconnected with her and Paddy when all our kids were little. One thing I will never forget and that is no matter how many kids were around and no matter how busy she was Mary always made us feel like we were the only people around. She made time to sit and chat ,bring out the tea and the best homemade Irish soda bread ever. She was so genuine,a great wife and fabulous mother to all her kids, and the best friend.I remember another time i decided to make 2 dresses, and didnt have a clue what I was doing, and there was Mary to the rescue.I am sure she is up there in heaven now either baking, sewing or chatting, but always with an eye down below on Paddy and her children.
Rest in peace dear Mary

Some happy memories from long ago..
In 1955, Mary, Esther and I - 3 of the Cathal Brugha Gang!- were sent on a 2 week Craft Training Course to Waterford. We had such a laugh and got up to great devilment - such that our children nor our grandchildren would believe! One escapade I can recount was when all three of us took off for a spin in Esther’s Morris Minor, all legit except for the fact that I was at the wheel, without a driving licence! Fortunately, the Garda who stopped us had connections with my home place, Cork City and allowed us off with just a caution! Needless to say, our parents never got to hear that story..
My late husband, John and myself loved to hear that Mary and Paddy were coming to visit. On their second last visit in 2000 (I think), all four of us took a day trip around the Ring of Kerry. We felt so lucky with the gorgeous weather, the beautiful countryside and especially, each other’s company. We stopped at Ladies’ View for refreshments (liquid for the men of course!) and a kind tourist took a lovely photograph of us with the mountains and lakes of Killarney as the backdrop. Some weeks later, on one of our epically long transatlantic phone calls Mary told me she’d placed the photo on her kitchen window sill and that’s where I put my copy too, so that we could be joined in our daily tasks of washing and cooking and remembering each other.
On Mary and Paddy’s last visit, Mary took me aside, telling me she’d brought me a little something, and laughing, she said “it’s like something teenagers would exchange!” It was a Red Ladybug memento box, with the words:
“Thinking of you:
I have you in my thoughts today
And hope you think of me
You are a friend who’s very dear
As you will always be.”
I’ve been in touch with many of our College friends and they all send their sympathy and prayers.
Thank you, Mary for almost 60 years of friendship and love. My prayers and loving thoughts are with Paddy and all the family today and every day.
Mary Kennelly, nee Murphy.

To the Brennan family - Although I only knew Gerry, I feel your loss. I met Gerry through Mike Levin and my daughter married Chad Casamento. Through the years, I have heard many great stories about Gerry's family. Mine, too, was Irish, so I really identified. Also, my mom died exactly 30 years ago, 5/31/80. My thoughts and prayers are with Gerry and his wonderful family at this time of profound loss. Sincerely, Carol

There is little that can be said that will take away the emptiness we feel at this time. However, memories of Mary's smile, charm, wit, love, and caring will ease the pain and bring back smiles to our faces. Though she is no longer standing next to us - she will always be with us. Our love and prayers continue to be with Mary's family and friends.
