Marion S. Clackner, 86, passed away on Monday at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Denville, NJ.
Marion was born in Madison, NJ and was a resident of Denville for over 60 years, and for the last 5 years she lived in Rockaway. She was a homemaker whose warmth and generosity of spirit endeared her to everyone she knew. Marion was as beloved by her own childhood friends as by the friends of her children and grandchildren; she was cool to hang out with and a blessing in the lives of her family, friends, and neighbors.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Bill, and her two daughters Sheila Clackner and Sandy Ciampaglione, and by her son William Clackner in infancy.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Stacey Murphy and her husband John, Grandchildren Kim Winsch and her husband Ted, Doug Ciampaglione and his wife Melanie, and Christina Murphy, Great-Grandchildren Julia Winsch and Will Ciampaglione, and her God-daughters Nancy Eilertsen, and Signe Campbell and her husband Michael, and by her "adopted kids”, Rosemary and Jerry Kelly, Kate and Rick Wise, Kathy, Joe, Jeff and Alex Dunn, and her extended family including brother-in-law Whitey Newton, and sister-in-law, Pat Clackner and their families, and her best friend and cousin, Doris Wilhemsen.
Marion’s funeral services will be conducted at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Saturday, July 13th at 11am, relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, July 12th from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
