Susan J. Englehardt (Maurer) with extraordinary determination and hope fought to the end after a long illness, passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on July 2, 2013 at the age of 65.
Born in Englewood, she had lived in Mount Tabor for the last 44 years.
Susan was a registered nurse and worked for Hospice of Morris County, a job that she loved and persued and became a consummate professional hospice nurse.
She loved her family, her dogs, gardening, and her community of Mount Tabor where she was affectionately known as Mom “E”.
Susan was predeceased by her first husband First Lt. Vincent Lawrence Jacobs who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1969. She was also predeceased by her father Frederick R. Maurer, her great Aunt & “Unc” Louise & Richard Steier, her daughter Jacki’s partner Wendell Quinn, and her daughter Jessica’s husband Andy Pulliam.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Wayne E. Englehardt of Mount Tabor, and her loving daughters Jacki Englehardt of Independence, WV, Wendi & Thomas DiCianni of Rockaway, NJ, Jessica Pulliam of Olney, MD, and Kasey & BJ Travers of Lake Hopatcong, NJ.
Her beloved grandchildren Luke and Isabella DiCianni, her life long best friends Joan & Bill Grant of Wayne, her brother in-law and sister in-law Bill & Claire Englehardt and their sons Scott and Tom & their families, her mother Marie Lightfoot of Denville, NJ and her brother Peter Maurer of Plant City, FL also survive her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 2PM at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Friends may visit on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834.
