Charles Lim passed away on October 13, 2009 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
He was 73 years old.
Born in Rangoon, Burma he had moved to New York City in 1961 and then lived in Newark before moving to Rockaway Twp., NJ 33 years ago.
Charles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Tri State University in Indiana. He then went on to work as an engineer for Westinghouse in Newark, NJ for 30 years before retiring in 2001.
He was an avid reader of history who loved music, the NY Knicks, and collecting postage stamps.
Charles was predeceased by his sisters Dr. Wan Ngo Lim in 2004, Katherine Lim in 2008, and Constance Lin in 2007.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Laichoon (Tham) Lim of Rockaway Twp., NJ. He is also survived by his loving children Wellington Lim of Washington D.C. and Cecilia Lim of Rockaway Twp., NJ. His sister Dr. Sheila Lim (& Dr. Sinpui) Chak of Portsmouth, VA, and
his Brother Tong Kar (& Lynne) Lim of Toronto, Canada, his brother in-law Sein Lin of West Hartford, CT, his brother and sister in-law Mr and Mrs. Kok Kheng Shao of Staten Island, NY, his brother and sister in-law Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tham of Marietta , GA and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ on Monday October 19, at 10AM. Friends may visit on Sunday from 2-5PM.
