Chein-Hwa Chen passed away peacefully on September 21, 2009 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover with family at his bedside.
He was 65 years old.
Chein-Hwa was born in Liaoning, China. He spent much of his youth in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States in 1970. He lived briefly in Paterson, NJ before settling into the Cedar Lake community of Denville, NJ in 1973.
Chein-Hwa received his Bachelor of Sciences in Taiwan and completed his post-graduate studies in NJ.
Chein-Hwa worked as a senior research scientist for Hoffman-La Roche and then for Novartis. Along with reading and travel, he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Shan-Li, and his children: Jating Chen of New York, NY and Howard Chen of New York, NY. He is also survived by loving relatives Kuo-Ming and Shu-Fei Lee of Pleasantville, NJ; Po-Chi and Wen-Ing Ren of Randolph, NJ; Po-Shung and Nancy Ren of Mendham, NJ and Po-Chao and Ming-Shia Ren of NJ.
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday September 25th from 9am to time of services at 11am at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com (please light a candle in memory of Chein-Hwa on web site).
