Mr. Shayka was my neighbor growing up. He was my biggest supporter. He would buy candy, cookies, and anything else my clubs and activities made me sell. He was so sweet and friendly and caring. I always liked walking to his house to talk to him.
My sympathy to his family!
God bless!

Dear Mrs. Shayka,
I wanted to write to you to express my deepest sympathy over the loss of your husband.
I have been a friend of Susan's for ten years and often she has expressed her love for you and her family. I consider her one of my very best friends. Thank you and your husband for her life and for the blessing she is to all of us at St. Ann's parish. Because of the love you and your husband have given her through the years, she has been filled with joy and has given it to me and to so many others.
I pray that you will forever be comforted by the angels who surround you and by the intercession of Mary through the prayers of the Rosary. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Gigi Taylor

Dear Mrs. Shaka, I never met you or your husband, but I am a good friend of your daughter, Susan. She is such a beautiful & special person that I know that you & Harry must be special too. I would like to thank you for all the rosaries you made over the years. They were passed on to many, many people who would never have had a rosary if it were not for you & Harry. I am very sorry for your loss, and I will pray for the repose of Harry's soul and also that you will be comforted. May you feel the arms of Jesus around you and know that you are loved. Best Regards, Christine BaDour

The stories Pop pop would tell me were priceless tales of family and national history. I never knew it was possible for someone to touch so many lives and part take in so many adventures. My last words to Pop pop were "I love you" his last to me were "Jesus Christ" You have to love that! I will always hold Pop pop in my heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Grandma, as this is a very difficult time. We all miss Pop pop a lot, and he has touched our lives forever. One of my favorite memories is when I flew out to visit you for spring break when i was about 13... pop pop would do crossword puzzles with me and he made great dinners. He would also trot down to the beach with us for a day in the sun with a smile on his face. I am also so thankful he got to meet Addison- she enjoyed playing the "lip harmonica" with him during our visit to FL. Love always, Darlene, Michael and Addison

Dear Dad:
I will always remember that no matter where I needed driving directions to, you were always able to tell me the best and easiest way to get there; no matter what needed to be fixed whether it was my car, some appliance or something else in the house, you knew how to do it; and most important your love for Mommy. With much love and gratitude, Trish (#1)

Please accept my condolences for the entire family.
In reading about Mr. Shayka's life, he was an extraordinary man who set a beautiful example of service and giving to others. While I did not have the pleasure of knowing him personally, I work with Trish Miller. She has spoken of the wonderful family reunions and we've enjoyed seeing the family pictures. What a loving family you have!
Trish is always the first to help at the office and it's easy to see where she learned that great quality. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Oh, Pop Pop - how the great-grandchildren are missing you! I have memories to carry with me . . . watching you stand in front of steaming pots in your kitchen - and gleefully running around with my cousins at the Legion Hall while you toiled over wonderful meals! Your great-grandchildren cherish your presence in their lives through the "name rugs" you hooked and the rosaries you sent our way. We know that you are enjoying your Great Reward after a life WELL lived! May those who loved you and miss you now, be comforted by the knowledge that your strife has come to peace and we will work to be reunited with you in our Father's Home. Love, Bradley, Michelle, Kayleigh, Julia, Joshua and little Benjamin
