Rocco J. Lopresti, 88, of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Denville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Lopresti, dear brother of Theresa Giuliano and her husband Vito Giuliano. Loving father of Cathy and her husband Roy Frederickson and Joe and his wife Jennifer. Devoted grandfather of Lauren and Danielle Frederickson and Tyler and Alexis Lopresti. Rocco was born in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Boys High School in Brooklyn and was drafted into the Army during World War ll. He went on to serve in the E Company of the Fighting 44th Division, also known as the Wildcats. The 44th Division was a heralded division of the 324th Infantry. After World War ll, he went on to Fordham University to complete both his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Chemistry. Rocco spent almost his entire career as a highly successful research scientist at Hoffman-La Roche until retirement. Rocco’s true loves in life were his family and friends. He loved his life in Denville with his wife and children. There was nothing he loved and enjoyed more than spending time with his grandchildren! He traveled the world and pursued intellectual challenges up until the day of his passing. A memorial service will be held at Norman Dean Funeral Home, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com on Friday, June 21, 2013. Visiting hours are from 4-8pm. A grave side funeral service will take place on Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Tuckerton, NJ at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital or The V Foundation for cancer research.
