David Gene Lauterbach
Master Craftsman and NASCAR Fan
David Gene Lauterbach, 58, was born August 4, 1950 in Newark, NJ passed away July 22, 2009 at home. He graduated from West Orange Mountain High School in 1969. Over his life time, he resided in West Orange, Lake Hiawatha, Hopatcong, and Mount Arlington. He worked for Berliss Ball Bearing Co. in Livingston, NJ, Gemmco Printing in Fairfield, NJ for 20 years and most recently has been employed at Adam Metal in Roxbury, NJ for the last 7 years. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. David was an extremely skilled woodworker, guitarist, and enjoyed many weekends of NASCAR.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eleanor and Eugene, and his sisters Neal Ann Scheel, and Ellen Daniel.
David is survived by his son Jesse David and his wife Rebecca of Red Lion, Pa, and his daughter Melissa Ann of Nottingham, MD. He was the grandfather of Chase and Talon Glenn of MD, and Eli and Sidney Lauterbach of MD, loving brother of Loren Lauterbach of Rockaway, Lyle Lauterbach of West Orange, and Jacquelyn Camuso of Hillsborough.
David was a loving father and a man who would do anything for anybody he could. He had an incredible ability for cabinetry and most other woodworking. He loved the outdoors and appreciated nature. David loved to teach skills to other guitarists and fostered their passion for music. He was well respected and liked, and will be sadly missed by his beloved family and many friends.
