We lived next door to Ruth and Mic for many years - they were great neighbors - took care of a dog we rescued while we went to Hawaii and when we got home, they had the dog all trained! Mic was the salt of the earth - always there to help, offer you a beer, make you laugh. Got to see Mic a couple years ago and he said he still missed Ruth terribly so now they are together again. Our condolences to family.

Millicent, Michael and Mrs. Hornick, I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Hornick's passing. He was a good man and neighbor. My prayers are with you.
I lost my Dad on July 21 and while looking for my Dad's obituary, I noticed Mr. Hornick's. Again, my condolences.

There was never a better father-in-law in this world. From the first time I met him he made me feel comfortable and cared for. He was better to me in many ways than my own father. He drove me to all of my last prenatal visits with both Michael Andrew and Amanda. He then drove me to at least the first 6 pediatrician visits for both of his beloved grandchildren. When I had a flat tire on my way home from work at 1:30 AM and couldn't get Michael to answer the phone, Dad came and changed my tire. When I had a dead mouse in a trap on my kitchen stove, Dad drove over and got rid of it for me. I owe him more than I could ever repay. He was always there to lend a helping hand, tell a joke or give me a smile. Nobody but Dad could soothe Michael Andrew when he was suffering from colic. Nobody gave better wheelbarrow rides around the backyard.
He was the best grandfather on earth to his beloved grandchildren. I will cherish these memories always. I believe he is in a better place and now happily reunited with Mother.

I am sorry I will not be able to attend your Father's viewing, as we will be on vacation. I remember your Dad when I worked with your Mom at Packer's. They were both funloving folks. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Joan Addison P.S. I read Kevin's thoughts and she must be the one I hear on the radio as I live in Hackettstown. Small world.

Mr. Hornick was as close a father to me as my own, perhaps closer. He welcomed me into the Hornick household when I was a little girl, and he and Mrs. Hornick were always a big part of my life. As their daughter Millicent's best friend, I enjoyed sleepovers at their home, vacations at Lake Page, and the knowledge I was always loved and cared for by them. He was a dear, sweet man who lived simply and honestly, and I appreciate the many kindnesses he has shown me over the years.

Dear, sweet Uncle Mike. He always called me Susan. I will always remember him as being the "quiet and composed" uncle of the Fabulous Hornick Boys - and they, along with Aunt Mary, have given me many wonderful memories.

The kindest man I ever met, devoted, with the biggest heart I ever knew. I will always remember that he came to every Sokol gymnastics pratice and event that I had. He taught me to play horseshoes. He would have sat in the rocking chair and read every book we owned, had we asked. Poppie will be very, very missed, as will "Big Poppie"...as he was known to my son Josiah.
