Hazel Schumka, 93, passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Twp., NJ on Tuesday June 9, 2009.
Mr. Schumka was born in Newark, was a resident of West Orange and over 50 years in the Rainbow Lakes section of Parsippany. She attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, was a Crossing Guard and Dispatcher for the West Orange Police Department, was employed at Edison’s in West Orange during WW II, was a volunteer at St. Clare’s Hospital, and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mountain Lakes.
She was predeceased by her husband Theodore W. Sr. in 1992 and her son Theodore W. Jr. in 1979.
She is survived by her son, William Schumka and his wife Marion of Poway, Ca, her two daughters Sandra and Barbara Schumka both of Rainbow Lakes section of Parsippany, NJ, her two grandchildren, Mark and Jacqueline and two great grandchildren, Macy and Avery.
Relatives and friends will be received on June 11th Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm with a 8pm wake service at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Hazel on web site).
