Edward F. Coogan. 80, died on Monday May 4, 2009 at the Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Township, NJ.
Mr. Coogan was born in Newark and was a resident of Denville the last 35 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. In 1949 he became a Mason for Local 4 the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers in Newark, NJ, retiring 15 years ago. He was an avid Gardner and enjoyed Ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Betty” Coogan, His children Lynda Holden and her husband Tom of Barnegat, NJ, Edward S. Coogan and his wife Galina of Brewster, NY, Barbara Wolfe of Denville, NJ, his eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, his sister, Ethel Maolucci of Hoboken and his brother, John Coogan of Cape May, NJ.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday May 6th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ with a prayer service at 4pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Box 3707, Memphis, TN 38173-0704 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Denville, NJ 07834.
