Ulderico "Al" DeLuca, 94, passed away at his Denville residence on Wednesday August 29, 2012.
Al was born in Roveredo in Piano, Italy, he came to the United States in 1930 settling in New York City. He was a resident of Jackson Heights, Queens, NY and Parsippany NJ and since 1980 in Denville NJ. He was machinist for 22 years for Sperry Gyroscope in New York and worked for Con Ed Utility Company for 10 years retiring in 1983. Al was a 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Raymond R. Kearney Council #4299 Jackson Heights, NY . He was a Past President of the Denville Men's Senior Citizen's "Shoot the Breeze Club", and he was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Al was predeceased by his wife Gertrude DeLuca and his sister Albertina Mecchi.
He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Geis, his son, Richard DeLuca, his nine grandchildren, Chris, Jeff, Kim, Lori, Keith, Garret Steven, Leigh and Brian, his 16 great grandchildren, Ryan, Cory, Cody, Taylor, Hope, Kiel, Garrett, Danielle, Christopher, Matthew, Ethan, Timothy, Abby, Noah, Paige and Sophia, his foster sons, Garrett and Raymond Vanderbrink, his foster daughter, Geraldine Vanderbrink, his Cousin, Evelyn Todaro, and his two nephews, Aldo and Valeriano Mecchi.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Monday September 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to either the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
Al's funeral will be conducted from, on Tuesday September 4th at 8:30am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Mary's Church Denville, interment committal services at Denville Cemetery. (please light a candle in memory of Al on website www.normandean.com,)
