I enjoyed visiting with Isabell each summer when she came to the Berkshire Choral Festival to sing. She was a lovely, intelligent, and interesting woman and I will miss her.

Isabell, or Iz,her family soubriquet, was a remarkable, multiply-talented woman, who overcame adversities that would have defeated many of us, and went on to pursue her life with spirit, flexibility and imagination. We admired her tremendously for these traits, and surely she was a model to many women. we will miss her greatly.

Margie and I will always remember Isabell's devotion to my father when he became ill. Not only did she cut no corners to find him the best medical care but she visited him twice a day when there was no choice but to place him in the ursing home. She was truly wonderful.

Dear David, Carolyn & Kate,
We are so sorry for your loss and we will truly miss Iz. She was our mentor in so many ways. She taught me not to plant my peonies but how and where to place them so they florished; a simpler way to compost;why my daffodils leaned from long, sinewy stems toward the sunlight they craved; why holly (ibex) was a good choice for shrubbery!
Isabell spoke lovingly of all her children and especially her grandchildren. You were the joy in her life.
And we will miss her, too.

Dearest Carolyn, Kate, David & family, we all enjoyed your vivacious and unique mother, "IZ". There were so many things I not so secretly adored about her and her choices: the white plate system, the attention to detail with plants from seed to compost, her artistic manner of arranging and organizing objects and her speech. She was a fascinating woman in every situation: behind a library desk, at 10 Shawger, driving from EWR, in my kitchen at a "Broadway show", applying lipstick before dinner so recently. It's hard not to be "effusively" sad over her passing but I know that our personal anecdotal library about your remarkable mother will help see us through.
My sincere condolences on the loss of Iz.
