Bertha Rycyk, 88, passed on Friday January 9, 2009 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Twp., NJ.
Mrs. Rycyk was born in Newark and was a resident of Boonton Twp for the last 56 years. Bertha was employed for 30 years at the Citizen Newspaper in the advertisement department and retired 6 years ago. She enjoyed bird watching and square dancing.
Her husband Frank Rycyk Sr predeceased her in 1989.
She is survived by her two sons Frank Jr., and David, her two daughters, Gloria Gietz and Evelyn McNally, her five grandchildren, Amanda, Hilary, Athena, Heather, and Ross, and her brother, Zigmund Harkiewicz.
Bertha’s funeral services will be conducted at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Bertha on web site), on Tuesday January 13th at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday evening from 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online donation to www.stjude.org would be appreciated.
