Albert Charles Ransegnola passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on December 26, 2008.
He was 73 years old.
Born in Newark, the son of Nicholas and Rose Ransegnola (deceased), Albert graduated from Irvington High School in 1953 and obtained his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, and then his Masters and Doctorate Degree from Seton Hall. He has lived in Denville, NJ for the last 38 years.
Albert was a Science Teacher at the Kawameeh Middle School in Union, NJ for 33 years before retiring in 1990.
Albert received a kidney transplant from his wife in 1997 at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. He and his wife volunteered as patient advocates for many years for other transplant candidates at Newark Beth Israel.
He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. Albert enjoyed vacationing with his wife and siblings and spending time with his grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife Ann "Nancy" (Bresky) Ransegnola of Denville, NJ with whom he just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his children Frank (& Lori) Ransegnola of Cranbury, NJ, Lisa (& Rich) Golden of Denville, Laura (& George) Viteri of Rockaway, and Lynda (& Jim) Lloyd of Denville, NJ. His grandchildren Tommy, Jason and Monica Ransegnola, Samantha, Allie & Patrick Golden, Matthew and Michael Viteri, Hope, Charlie, Grace, Jackson, and Josie Lloyd also survive him. He is also survived by his brother James (& Mary) Ransegnola of Randolph, and his sisters Joy (& Stanley) Szumel of Piscataway, and Gay Ransegnola of Basking Ridge, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, January 2 from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Final viewing on Saturday January 3, at 9AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Denville at 10AM.
