I only saw Joan a couple times when Catherine took me to see her condo and at Catherine's Wedding & her baby shower. She was a woman who was enjoying life and loved being around people, especially her grandchildren. God Bless the whole family as you mourn her loss.

Joan... though we were so many years apart in age growing up, we shared so many of the same memories. Decorating the tree that dad had brought home for a dollar on Christmas eve, our weekend outings to Cold Spring Lake, The Land of Make Believe and the Catskill Game Farm. Though only 6 or 7 I was a welcome tag-along with your club "The Mermaids" and the guys you hung out with, "The Torpedo's." You turned out to be a wonderful mother, just like mom. And... a wonderful sister, to your little brother. Love... "Charlie."

Even though you weren't my grandmother you certainly made me feel like part of your family. I will always remember how loving and generous you were, especially Easter; you would spoil us rotten with all the chocolate treats. I feel like I was blessed with a 3rd grandma. Hugs & Kisses Tori

Joan, I feel blessed to have known you for over 30 years. How you welcomed our family into your home for holidays and birthdays over the years. There is not a single moment that I can remember that you didn’t make me smile or laugh. When I think of words like courageous and self-sacrificing I will think of you. I want you to know how much I appreciate all the words of wisdom you shared with me when I needed it. Though I wish we could have had more time with you I know you are in good hands. Hugs & kisses, Carmen Mayor Gillas

When I think of Mommy, one word comes to mind: Courage. Truly, God gifted our mom with what she needed to endure the long battles in life. I thank the Lord for allowing Mom to demostrate His strength through her to us and for answering her quiet ongoing prayers to remain here with us for as long as heavenly possible through so many challenges. I thank God for how I saw mom's courage handed- down and manifested in our sister, Joann. The last eight months were a tough yet amazing gift from God to bond with mom in extraordinary ways that some of us never thought possible and allowed for so much healing beyond the physical to take place. Praise God, Mom, that we will meet again in Jesus for all eternity. Love, Catherine

On December 11, 1964 I was lucky enough to be born to a woman named Joan Cieciuch (my Mom). What a joy that was! During my lifetime you made many sacrifices to make sure I had everything I needed. You always put me first and yourself last, you would forego everything in your life to make sure I had everything I needed. I am so proud of you and so honored to have called you Mom. I thank you from my heart for everything you did for me. You did a great job and I am so lucky to have you for my Mom. I will always remenber the great times we together in life and for that I thank you.
I Love You and Always Will,
Raymond

Not only was she my grandmother , but my best friend. Whenever I was down she always knew how to make me smile. When ever I would sleepover we would watch TMZ and she would always say how hot she thought the one guy was. Although she was in her seventies it felt like she was a teenager again. I was very close to her and these past couple of months have made me realize that she is my hero, my inspiration. I know when I am going through a rough patch that she will always be there. She has taught me that no matter the struggle all you have to do is fight. Although I wish she could have stayed here for another year, I am thankful that she is now at peace because that is what she deserved.
All My Love
Samantha ~
