Bernard J. Kiernan, 77, died at the Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clares Hospital in Dover, J on Thursday June 8, 2006. Mr. Kiernan was born in Jersey City, NJ and was a resident of Hazlet, NJ. Mr. Kiernan was a summer resident in Denville from 1930 to 1972, he moved to Denville in 1972 to present. He was the owner operator of Kiernans Pub in Flanders for 31 years retiring two years ago. Before opening his pub, he was superintendent of construction for the 1964 Belguim Village at the Worlds Fair in Queens, New York. He served during the Korean War in the United States Navy. He is a member of the St. Marys Church in Denville, NJ. He is the beloved husband of Carol J. (nee Ohland) Kiernan. Loving father of Kevin Kiernan and his wife Leah of Flanders, Kathleen Olenowski and her husband John of Denville, Kelly Stevens and her husband Randy of Denville. Grandfather of Patrick, Meagan, Caitlin, Brandon, and Corey. Brother of Patricia Sneddon of Largo, Fl and Geraldine Walters of Surf City, NJ. Funeral from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Monday June 12th at 9:45a.m. For a 10:45a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial service at St. Marys Church, Denville, NJ. Interment services at Denville Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday June 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
