Martha Janet Gerber (Messmer) passed away at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center in Denville, NJ on May 5, 2006. She was 88 years old.
Born in Passaic, she had lived in Glen Rock, NJ for 48 years before moving to Franciscan Oaks in Denville where her and her husband Rudolf graced the cover of their brochure 12 years ago.
She had been a seamstress for 10 years at Jenny Banta in Ridgewood before going to work as an administrative assistant for 20 years at Motorola in Glen Rock, NJ and retired in her early 70s.
Janet was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years in Ridgewood, NJ.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rudolf Gerber of Denville. Her sons Richard (& Janet) of Succasunna, and William (& Jayna) Gerber of Woodcliff Lake, NJ also survive her.
Her Grandchildren Jay Rudolf Gerber of NYC, Robin, Matthew, and Christine Gerber all of Succasunna, NJ also survive her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 10, at 10AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
