Obituary of Elwood L. “Larry” Lester Jr.

Elwood Larry Lester Jr. passed away on December 16, 2005, at he Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ. He was 73 years old.
Born in Honesdale, PA, he had lived in Lackawaxen, PA prior to moving to Denville, NJ 41 years ago
Larry had joined the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He had been a real estate broker for many years working at Coldwell Banker in Denville before retiring in 1994.
Larry was an avid fan of NY sports teams like the Yankees, Giants and Knicks.
He was a member of the Denville Rotary for many years and a volunteer with the St. Clares Harvest Festival. He was also a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Morris Plains.
What he enjoyed most was his 17 + years as manager of Denville Little League Teams and serving on the Board of Directors.
Larry is pre deceased by his mother Ellen Megargel and his brother James Megargel
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marion (Ficken) Lester of Denville. His children Michael (& Marisue), Mark (& Jonine) of Denville, NJ and Daniel (& Sherry) of Graham, NC, and David (& Danielle) of Caldwell, NJ also survive him. His Grandchildren Dylan, Justin, Amber, Jessica, Jennifer, Rebekah, Maria, Anthony, and Kevin survive him. His father Elwood L. Lester Sr. of Port Jervis, NY and his stepsisters Janet Clark of Matamoras, PA and Phyllis Nerove of Polk City, FL also survive him.
A Funeral service will take place on Monday December 19, at 9PM at Norman Dean Home for services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com. Friends may visit on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
