Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomas E. Wear Jr. passed away on September 22, 2008 in Morristown, NJ after a lengthy battle with a brain infection.
He was 58 years old.
Tom was born on October 19, 1949 in Morristown, and was raised in Denville, NJ. He graduated from Morris Knolls High School in 1968 and went on to graduate from the Aeronautical Engineering Program at Arizona State University. Tom had wanted to be a pilot following in his father's footsteps, but eyesight prevented this. He purchased Prospect Point Marina at the age of 28 and went on to make a success of himself in the Marina business.
He subsequently purchased a marina on Brady Road that was nicknamed Marina X as he could not quite decide on a proper name. In 2001 The Wearhouse Grille was opened and has been a successful restaurant in Lake Hopatcong. Tom had great vision and was an incredible business man. The sight of Tom in his bright yellow Hummer driving around town will be sorely missed.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas E. Sr. & Lillian Wear and his sister, Lorraine Wear Shubert.
He will be deeply missed by his companion, Regina Makowski, his sister Joan and Lloyd Champion & their daughter, Tracey Champion of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are his 2 nieces and nephews, and many friends. A very private person, Tom would be very surprised by the number of people who cared for him and prayed for him to be well.
Graveside services will be held at the First Presbyterian Cemetery in New Vernon, NJ on September 26, at 11AM. Friends may visit on Thursday from 4-8PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com
