Obituary of Maria Anna Somogyi

Maria Anna Somogyi, 93, died on Thursday Sept. 11, 2008 at Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Township, NJ. She was born in Gyor, Hungary to Dr. Bela and Piroska Csemez. She married Dr. Paul Somogyi in 1937. The family together with their three children emigrated from Hungary to Canada. In 1958 they came to the US and settled in New York City. She retired to Florida and in 1981 she moved to Denville. Maria worked for Allied Signal in Morristown for many years prior to retiring in 1971. She was a communicant at both St. Stephen's RC Magyar Church in Passaic and St. Mary's RC Church in Denville. Her husband Paul B. Somogyi died on March 13, 1979. She is survived by her children and their spouses Dr. Balazs and Csilla Somogyi of Cheshire, Ct., Miklos "Mike" and Katalin Somogyi of Denville,NJ and Maria and Levente Koller of Andover, NJ. Her grandchildren Zsuzsanna Somogyi, Ilona Somogyi, Judit Somogyi, Peter Somogyi, Michael Somogyi, Zoltan Koller, and Laszlo Koller, and her great grandchildren Devyn, Kyle, Dana, Madison, and Molly Somogyi. She is also survived by her Brother Bela Csemez of Tet, Hungary. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday Sept.20, 2008, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's RC Church in Denville, NJ. Entombment will in Cheshire, CT. A Memorial Mass in Hungarian will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24,2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen's RC Magyar Church in Passaic, NJ.
