Richard F. "Richie" Thayer Esq. of Livingston, NJ passed away on September 7, 2008 at St. Barnabas Hospital.
He was 66 years old.
Born in Jersey City, he grew up in Newark and has lived in Livingston, NJ since 1976.
He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1960 where he made All States in Basketball and was named top 2 in the state. He also received the Catholic Youth Organization Award and a basketball scholarship to Rutgers University where he graduated from in 1964. He then graduated from Rutgers Law School in 1967, and in 1990 was inducted into The Bloomfield Athletic Hall of fame.
Richard worked as an attorney for both the Passaic, and Essex county prosecutors office, before going into private practice, and the going into the Attorney Generals office Bureau of Securities, and finally back into private practice.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Adrienne B. (Silverman) Thayer, of Livingston, NJ. His son Eric Thayer of Livingston, and his daughter Kim (& Gary) Glomb of Whippany and his grandchildren Jessica & Jimmy Glomb, and Kevin Thayer also survive him.
His siblings Ann Skolski of FL, Henry Thayer of Montclair, NJ, Robert Thayer of FL, and Stella Hageman of Utah also survive him along with many Nieces, Nephews and good friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday September 12, at 11AM at the Restland Memorial Park Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8PM.
