Obituary of John J. Reed

Dr. John J. Reed passed away at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany, NJ on July 5, 2005. He was 92 years old.
Born in Rochester, NY he had lived in Allentown, PA for 45 years before moving to Morris County five years ago.
He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester, and then achieved his P.H.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He then became a professor there and later was appointed as the head of the history department at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA for 25+ years before retiring in 1986. Dr. Reed was also an active member of the ACLU and a member of the American Association of University Professors as well as having been a Professor Emeritus at Muhlenberg College for many years.
His wife, the late Elisabeth B. Reed pre-deceased him in May of 2005. His daughter, the late Laura R. Kramer also pre-deceased him.
John is survived by his son John P. Reed of Denville, NJ, six Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces & Nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ
