Walter Hornbeck passed away at his daughter, Betty's,home in Parsippany, NJ on June 30, 2005. He was 87 years old. Born in Waterbury, CT he had moved from Sussex to Denville where he has lived since 1942. Walter served in the US Army during WWII. He had worked at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township for 38 years before retiring in 1985. Walter loved gardening and woodworking and was a member of the Denville Community Church, he also served as a ballot worker in town, He and his wife built their own home on Hornbeck Road, a road named after his wife Anna's brother, Edward, who was killed in WWII. He is pre-deceased by his wife Anna Mariewho died in 1996, and his son Walter who died in 1977. His daughters Betty Miller of Parsippany, NJ, Mary Hornbeck of Gainesboro, TN, and Dolores Klein of Clayton, NJ survive him. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. He was the child of Peter and Frances Grabinski who came here from Poland. His brothers Frank and Anthony Grabinski both of Hackettstown, NJ and his sister Helene Beam of Hackettstown, NJ also survive him. But, he is pre-deceased by his brothers John and Micheal Grabinski.
