Marion O. Knuppel (Nee Stearns) passed away on June 26, 2005 at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center in Denville. She was 85 years old. Born in Weehawken, she had lived in the Smoke Rise section of Kinnelon, NJ for 45 years before moving to Denville 1 years ago. She received her Bachelors degree from St. Elizabeths in 1941, and went on to get her Masters in teaching from William Patterson University. Marion had been employed by the Kinnelon Board of Education for 36 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and volunteered for the Hospice of Morris County. Marion is pre deceased by her husband, the late Herman D. Knuppel who passed away in 1997. Her children Robert Knuppel of Princeton,NJ, and Barbara Heap of Kinnelon, NJ survive her. Her five grandsons and great grandson also survive her. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 29, at 11AM at St. Francis Chapel in Denville. DIRECTION TO ST FRANCIS CHAPEL: From Rt 80 headed west: Take exit #39, go .2 of a mile & take second right hand turn onto Rt 53 North. At second light bear to right keeping Starbucks on your right hand side (this is Diamond Spring Rd.). At the first light turn Right onto Pocono Rd. Go .2 of a mile & turn Left at the second driveway marked: Our Lady of Sorrows Convent. You can park in the lot on your immediate left. Proceed towards the double doors at top of ramp to get to the chapel. From Rt. 80 headed East: Take exit # 38 onto rt. 46 East. At second light (West Main St.) Turn left. At next light (Diamond Spring Rd.) turn left. Follow directions above.
