Johnathan "Johnny" Ortega, 40, died on Sunday August 24, 2008 at the Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.
Johnny was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He came to the United States and settled with his family in Newark, NJ in 1970. Johnny and his wife have lived in Denville, NJ for the past 12 years. He is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology and was employed by Verizon Business of Piscataway, NJ as a Senior Network Engineer.
His father Benigno Ortega predeceased him.
His wife Janeen, his two children Mitchell and Ava, his mother, Victoria Ortega of Miami, FL, his brother Felix Gerardo Ortega of Miami, FL, his sister, Theresa Valdes of Miami, FL and his many friends survive him.
Johnny's funeral will be conducted by Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com (please light a candle in memory of Johnny on the web site). Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9pm. On Thursday, August 28th friends and family will be received at Norman Dean’s at 9:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary's Church will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by Interment committal services at Denville Cemetery. Friends and Relatives are invited back to John and Janeen's home for a repast after services.
