My sympathies to Mr. Stein's family. I was a waitress at St. Francis as a teenager and knew Mr. & Mrs. Stein. I remember when he would come up from the farm to the kitchen and talk to us with his German accent. Over the years, I would later see him when I would attend mass at the chapel. He always gave me a warm hello. He was a truly special man.

To the Family of John Stein,
I wish to express our deepest sympathy on behalf of our family. John was a good friend of my father Andrew Schleupner. They worked in St. Francis for years together. My father was best friends with Anna and John Ruempelein and so they all knew each other well. They shared a common denominator "St. Francis". Please know we will keep John Stein in our prayers and his family as well. It saddens me to know they are all slowly leaving the place they loved so much. May fond memories of him always keep him close. My deepest Sympathy, Jean Cosentino
(daughter of Andrew Schleupner)

Dear Loved ones of Mr. Stein, I am so sorry for your loss. I am Sister Johnice Thone's niece and was fortunate to have worked at St. Francis. My family and I have such fond memories of our time there. We feel very privileged to have known Mr. and Mrs. Stein, the Rumpeleins, the Sisters and all who made St. Francis so special. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

John,
We are so glad we got to visit you at St. Clare's last Friday - yes, just a few days prior to your passing.
You smiled a couple of times and I feel you remembered us.
We have so many fond memories of you thru the years... at St. Francis Farm - you were an excellent farmer!
We had many involvements with you and Sister Mary Urban thru the years.
After you retired we enjoyed our visits to your home...
We remember so well the last time your joined us up at Germania Park for the Oktoberfest.
You were a very dear "Landsman" to us.
John, may God bless you....
Much love......
Sorry we will not be able to attend your services as we will be in Pennsylvania for a family reunion.
Maggie and Hubert Luckerath
