I found this poem among my collection:
Don't Let the Petals Fall
A rose is a beautiful thing,
Until the petals fall,
And by a zephyr blown away
Beyond the garden wall.
You are as the petal,
We hold so dear to heart,
And, as the rose, we'll feel the loss,
As from us you do part.
But friendshop knows no boundaries,
And true love cannot be fenced;
Thus we'll always have your memory,
As our recompense.
Someday we may recover
From the loss of one so true,
But until time has healed the pain,
We truly will miss you.

I remember when my beautiful Aunt MiMi married that handsome guy. He gave us the coolest dog ever, Leroy, from a litter of beagles. I was thrilled when they moved next door and we grew up with my cousins, almost as one big family.
I will truly miss you Uncle Howard. I pray that you have found peace.

Jen and Family,
Don't forget that God loves you and is holding you in his arms during this difficult time. I've lost both my parents in the last 2 years so I can understand how painful this new loss is for you. It helps me to know that my loved ones will be there to welcome me to heaven when God calls me home, too. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. God bless, Anne

"Those who live no more,
Whom we loved,
Echo still within our thoughts,
Our words, our hearts.
And what they did
And who they were
Becomes a part of all that we are,
Forever."
Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you and cherished memories to sustain you. With our sincere sympathy, Ron & Barbara Welsh

My PopPop was my rock and one of my best friends. I was always able to turn to him whenever, or wherever I was for anything. I miss all of the extra love he gave to me, especially after my dad passed away. I have lost the most important men in my life, but I am all the more watched over as when they were here on earth. Hopefully they are swingin' hammers and laughing together up in heaven as they always did. I love you PopPop and my heart will always shine the love you gave to me. I will miss you always. Love Nicky

I remember how Mille entered into your lives and created a home for Howard and his children for so many years. I brought my children to New Milford to visit when Jennifer was born. Our fondest thoughts and condolences to you all.

Always remember that my uncle had a smile for us when we were kids and all lived within a few houses of each other. He and my father (Martin, his brother) were always good friends and helped each other when help was needed.
Now, he is with my dad. Can see them "hanging out" together.
Love Susan

We have been Howard and Mimi's neighbors since 1996 and have so many memories there is not enough room on thos page for them all. Luckily our hearts have plenty of room. Howard was an amazing carpenter, all you had to do was mention what you wanted and he could do it just like he was in your heart and mind, knowing exactly what to do. He made a few things for us and when people comment on them we have always proudly said "Howard made that for us".
I guess my fondest memory is when we were painting our house and Howard would always come over to check our progress. When it got to the point that we had to do the peak over our porch we were worried about the ladder slipping off the porch roof. Howard came over the next day (unbenonst to us at that moment) and climbed up on that roof and put his braces up so the ladder wouldn't slip. I can still hear him up on the roof.
Howard you were greatly loved in this house and will be deeply missed. Rest peacefully and watch over all you love and all who loved you!

I give my condoleces to all who knew and love my Uncle. He was a tough man, who put up a tougher fight! He had a wonderful wife by his side and four loving childen. I grew up (as his niece) with so many memories that I am grateful to have in my heart forever. I saw his love for life by his fighting to try to get better. In the end, I belive he chose to ask God to take him to a better place to spare those he loved, from worrying about him. He was a proud, loving man who died with dignity, caring more about those around him then himself. I will forever miss him, but a part of him is always with me. God give strenght to those he left behind, and looking forward to the day we will all be together again!
