Dear Friends:
I am so sorry to know of the passing of a giant; a great man, a gentle man and a national treasure. I loved Art, as so many of us did. How lucky we were to know him; how enriched our lives were because of him; and our sport is the lesser without him.
I had Art as my Jr. National coach in 1970 to Jackson Hole, WY and since then we have spent alot of time together.
I will remember his laugh, his pipe, our trip to the Nationals for very early mornings in Park City, our many times together at Harris Hill.
Indeed we have lost a vital part of our sport's past, but what I shall dwell on today is that Art lived.
What a difference he made in the lives of so many, and how we are all made the richer for Art's wonderful life.
I love you all,
