Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Daily Record 1x Thursday Neighbor News Beatrice Margaret Lynch Kennnedy (1921-2013) entered into God’s kingdom on Easter Sunday after a long illness. The daughter of James Lynch and Della Duffy, Bea was born and raised in Jersey City where her family ran Lynch’s Tavern, a well known landmark. She is pre-deceased by her husband Gerard, sister Marion Hensle and brother James Lynch. She married her childhood sweetheart, Rod Kennedy, during World War II and followed him to his duty station in Miami, Florida, returning to Jersey City after the war. A life long city girl, she and Rod moved their family to Lake Hopatcong, transforming their summer bungalow into a loving and happy family home. She started a 30 year career working at Gooddale’s Pharmacy in Jefferson/Dover, quickly becoming known as being extremely friendly and helpful. After recovering from Rod’s death, Bea started a new phase in her life when she met Frank (Clint) Christian who became her devoted partner and loving companion of 42 years. She often visited her daughters and stayed for long periods with them in Europe. Her favorite travel adventure was a year long trip where she lived for six months in Italy followed by six months in England. Her favorite cities were London, Rome and Paris. Additional trips with Frank and her daughters were to Holland, Russia and most of continental Europe. Frank was lovingly at her side through her illness. She is also survived by her two daughters, Ann Marie McCarty of Emmaus, Pa and Michele Bannat of Oak Ridge, NJ and their families. She has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two great grandstep daughters and one great grandstep son serving his country as a United States Marine. Beatrice’s funeral will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please share a memory of Beatrice on website), on Saturday April 6th at 8:30am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at the Star of the Sea Church, Lake Hopatcong, NJ with committal and interment services at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday April 5th at the funeral home from 3-7PM.
