Aunt Diane, I know this is completely late but I have been trying to think of the right words to think of how to describe how much you meant to me and how your strength through all of this showed me I could get through anything. You were not only an aunt to me, but someone I could call a true friend. I knew that if I had good news you would be one of the first people I could call and you would be so proud of me. Know now that you are in a better place, but you still will be hearing my good news and I hope you will be just as proud as before. Another thing that I appreciated so much was your sense of humor. Even in the toughest situations, you seemed to get something humorous out of it. You are a true role model for me and I am sure many of your other nieces and nephews. I will always love you. -Kelsey

I met Diane many years ago through Roseann (Pole)and her sister Jeanne (Sant'Angelo). With exception of the past year, the four of us would meet at Roseann's or Jeanne's house every Friday night. This went on rain or shine (even snow) for "years". Many times she'd come over with her arms full of food and desserts for us all to enjoy. I'll always remember her distinct voice and wonderful laugh. I even liked the "face" she'd give to me if she didn't agree with my sick humor. She was a very warm person and at the same time, a very strong one, as is evident in the battle she fought these past three years. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have known her so well and she will continue to be loved and missed very much by myself and anyone who knew her.

The good die young. Just like your Dad, you are gone before your time. I've known you since you were just a little kid because Kathy and I became friends in 5th or 6th grade. For a little sister, you weren't too bad! From what I heard over the years, you have had a full, rich life, full of love and friends. . . just not enough of it. Blessings to your family to ease their pain. Smile on them from heaven.

I was lucky enough to meet Diane working at Anthony's. Joy worked there and I got the job through my friendship with Joy. Diane would crack me up every Friday night. It was so much fun working with her and Joy. She was so full of life and had such a young soul. It was easy to open up to her and talk about anything. She gave the best advice and I always looked forward to seeing her.

Diane and I became very close friends working at Anthony's Pizzeria. She made me look forward to going to work every Friday night. When I look back at those times I barely remember waiting tables and just remember the long talks and many laughs Diane and I would have. There were times I felt she knew more about me than my family and other friends. I would love to go back to that time in my life, just to be in the company of her contagious laugh and caring smile. The amount of thoughtful things she did for me, are countless. One thing I know is that I am a stronger person because of her. I was so lucky to have her in my life. I loved her very much.

Diane,
I really can't express how much you will be missed. You have such a great combination of humor and compassion that make you so comfortable to be around. You always make everyone feel at home even when you are meeting someone for the first time. There are never any awkward times when you're around. In the 25+ years I've known you, you have always been one of the nicest, most caring, and genuine people I've ever known. You truly are a beautiful person and we are all richer for having great memories of you to hang on to and hopefully learn from. Holiday parties aren't going to be the same without you and all the laughter that you created. (along with that great laugh of yours)

d. rex stands for dianasaurus rex.. i dont know why i called her that, nor do i know how i came up with it. i remember being in elementary school and having all of my friends call her 'mom.' i used to get jealous and say, 'but shes not your mom, shes my mom!' then i remembered that i was the lucky one that got to get off a school bus, walk through the door, and see her smiling face. its really weird not getting to see that anymore. about a month ago, i was having a hard time with a situation that a daughter would only want to talk to her mother about.. we sat on our deck from about 200am till about 400am, if not later, and talked about life, love, family, and, pretty much, everything. her glass was always have full and she always had something good, inspirational, and positive to say.
mom, i know im hiding a lot of emotions, but i do love you and i really do miss you. youre half my heart and half my soul. im going to miss the 400am voicemails you used to leave me.. 'whats the point in having a cell phone if youre not going to answer it?! drive carefully.. can you pick up milk?'
everyone loves you cause you love everyone. youre awesome, amazing, strong, beautiful, courageous, loyal, and more.. sorry i never bought you a 'worlds greatest mom' t-shirt.. you wouldnt have worn it anyway cause youre too cool for that.. and like, why advertise what people already know? duh.. hah.
im going to miss 'hand dancing' in your car, you laughing, and telling me to stop.. ill miss doing really good impressions of cher.. ill miss you thinking that i should have been born a blonde. just dont ask me any geography questions because i am really bad at math.
i really wish we could go to vegas for my 25th birthday, like you promised, but 'im not mad..' [i say that often..] if i go, you can totally come, too.. you get a free flight, lucky lady!! :)
be safe up there.. give joann, grandma, grandpa h., grandpa k., uncle billy, and abbey girl biiiiiiiiig hugs for me..
i really want to finish typing this, but i just cant get over how cool, down to earth, and amazing you are. please stay by my side.. i need you. i miss you. i love you..
[ps: i know who the favorite sister is.]
love you always,
ashley.

Never turn your heart to stone,

Around Birchwood Diane was Mrs. K or Diane K but to me she was always "Barbie Lynn" and the story behind that goes along with her wonderful personality and great sense of humor. When Diane started working at Birchwood there was someone there who kept calling her Linda...no matter how many times Diane corrected her she just kept doing it so finally Dinae just went along and let her call her Linda. As she is telling me this story someone listening said, "Your name is Diane, I thought it was Barbara!" We just had to crack up laughing and thus the name, "Barbie Lynn"! It just stuck with us. I will miss her bright eyes and sweet smile. No matter how she was feeling and I am sure there were days she felt lousy, she never ever once complained and always always that smile. She goes now to a place that is free of pain and full of love. We will see her again that I know. She just gets to go to the party before us....save me a seat Barbie. Love Sue Peer

You were the middle of 7 and the center of attention where ever you went. You fought the fight as all stubborn Huber's do. I am proud to say you are my sister, thank you for everything. Say hi to Dad, Mom and Billy....until we see each other again, May God welcome you and may you rest in peace...Love, Bob

Mom,
I don't even know where to start... you are so beautiful, you are so special, you are such a great person, you are truly my angel and I know that you will always be by my side no matter what. I may not be able to call you on the phone everyday now, but I know I can call on you anytime I need to...and you know I will!! This is so hard for me mom, because I love you more than life itself and I am going to miss you so much. You came to my side everytime i needed you, and i needed you many times. You sat by me in the hospital, you sat through all of my baseball games, you helped organize every event we had in the scouts, you helped me get everything i needed when i moved out, you picked out clothes for me, you became a yankee fan and watched more games than me, just because i liked them, you always thought of me and talked to everyone about me and as i talk to all of these people who love you i realize how much talking you did about me and what i was doing, and all of that... We had our secrets and stuff that was mom and son, and i enjoyed that relationship so very much! I know how much you wanted to be a grandmother and you never got the chance, and lemme tell ya, you woulda have been the best anyone could find... Your kindness has brought people together, your smile has made people happy, your presence has touched so many, your love for your family and friends has changed so many people...
I love you so much mom, i wish i could have you back, i wish i could kiss you again, i wish i could call you on the phone right now so you could tell me how to get through this. The house is not the same without you there, dad misses you, ashley misses you, everyone misses you, jack and kasey too!
I cherish every moment of over 28 years as your son and i will love you forever...I want you to know that I will try be strong through this, maybe not as strong as you are! I look at you and i feel so comfortable, No matter what was going wrong in life, seeing you made me so happy, being with you made me so happy, hearing your voice was so comforting, always.
I Love You Mom!
You are My Mother, My Friend, and My Angel...
Call ya later!
Love, Richie
