William J. Schlager, Retiree TWA and New Jersey Transit
William J. Schlager, 76, died at his residence in Denville, NJ on Saturday Feb. 5, 2005.
Mr. Schlager was born in Scranton, Pa and has been a resident of Denville for the last 42 years. He served in the US Navy. Mr. Schlager was employed with TWA for 24 years and New Jersey Transit for 20 years retiring 12 years ago. Mr. Schlager was a member at The Church of the Saviour at Denville, NJ; he was a sports enthusiast and loved watching his grandchildrens sporting events, he enjoyed his computer and going to the Lakeland YMCA at Mountain Lakes and spending time with his family.
Mr. Schlager is survived by his wife of 51 years Joan Hoffman Schlager. His daughters survive Lori Eisinger and Rick Dickerson of Denville, Linda and Edward Condit of Denville, his six grandchildren; Kurt and Todd Eisinger, Kasey and Justin Condit, Randy and Gregg Dickerson survive him. He was the brother of Robert Schlager of St. Louis, Mo. And he is the cousin of Howard Oakley and Donald Schautz both of Denville. Many good friends survive Mr. Schlager.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Tuesday Feb. 8th at 10:00a.m. Interment Denville Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday Feb. 7th from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory would be appreciated to The Church of the Saviour Memorial Garden 155 Morris Ave., Denville, NJ 07834.
