Cecelia M. Rutkowski, “Cece”, 63, passed on Sunday July 20, 2008 at her home in Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ.
Mrs. Rutkowski was born in Easton, PA and was raised in Stockertown, PA. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School. Cece moved to Morristown, NJ where she was employed at Macy’s Department Store as an operator, at the Daily Record as a proofreader, at Fairleigh Dickinson University as a secretary. Cece married and moved to Denville and was a homemaker. In 1980 Cece was employed as Manager at the Citizen Newspaper in Denville until her retirement in 2004. She was an active board member for the Denville Friends of the Library holding positions as Vice President, Recording Secretary, and Membership Chairperson, she was a volunteer and member of the Denville Local Assistance Board, she was a active member of Indian Lake Women’s Club holding positions on the Executive Board as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Historian. She also chaired many fund raising events for the Indian Lake Women’s Club.
Her husband George V. Rutkowski predeceased her in 1996.
Her loving companion Ronald J. Divita, her son, James G. Rutkowski Sr. of Whippany, her daughters, Jennifer and her husband Michael Knaack of Denville, Catherine Divita of Denville, her grandchildren, James G. Jr. and Nicholas Rutkowski, Amanda Carrio, Maddalyn and Michael Knaack, her brothers, Frank and Jeanne Wilson of Nathalie, VA, Charles and Elaine Wilson of Morris Plains, and her sister Sarah and John Osborne of Cocoa, FL, and her many nieces and nephews survive her.
Cece’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Cece on web site) on Thursday July 24th at 8:30am for a 10:00am Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday July 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donation to Children’s Tumor Foundation, 95 Pine Street, 16th Floor, NYNY 10005 or online donation at CTF.org would be appreciated.
