Schenectady -- Karl L Larsen, age 96 of Schenectady NY, died Wednesday Dec. 15, 2004 at home.
Mr. Larsen was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Martin and the late Anna Kvavik Larsen. He was a Foreman, employed by Ira S Bushey Shipyard, Brooklyn, NY.
Karl is survived by three sons: John (Barbara) M Larsen of Boonton, Karl (Laureen) Robert Larsen of Murrysville, PA, and Ronald (Susan) D Larsen of Schenectady, NY.
Also survived by 8 grandchildren: Edward (Roseanne) Larsen of Boonton, Andrew (Tracy) Larsen of Boonton, Richard (Adrienne) of Hope, Eric (Gretchen) of Las Vegas, NV, Stephen Larsen of Murrysville, PA, Karolyn Larsen of Turtle Creek, PA, Anders Larsen of Schenectady, NY, and Lt. Christain Larsen of San Diego, CA and 4 great grandchildren: Briannah and Sarah Larsen of Boonton and Justin and Alyssa of Hope.
Mr. Larsen played semi-pro soccer for Gjoa in Brooklyn, NY for 10 years. He was the founder and president of the Norweigen Art & Craft Club in Brooklyn, was heavily involved with the Vesterheim Folk Art Museum in Iowa, and he was a sports reporter for the Norway Times.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00 am in the Norman Dean Home for Services, Inc., Denville, (www.normandean.com). Interment will follow at Marcella Union Cemetery in Rockaway Township.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, Inc., 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.
