Raymond G. Conlon, 70, died peacefully at his home in Hackettstown, NJ, on Wednesday June 16, 2004.
He was born in Jersey City, and grew up in Kearny before moving to Denville in 1964. He moved to Budd Lake for five years and finally to Hackettstown last year.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Ray worked as an Accountant for Beneficial Management in Morristown, NJ for 29 years retiring in 1981. Following retirement he co-owned with his wife The Crafters Cupboard in Chatham, and later Co-founded Poseidon Pool and Spa in Boonton with his son Brian.
He has also been employed at Lakeland Cardiology in Mt. Lakes, NJ.
He has always been active in community groups like the Denville Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the National American Legion. He is also a member of St. Marys R. C. Church in Denville, NJ.
Ray was a history buff and enjoyed many years of camping with his family. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his love and devotion to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sue nee Lindstedt. His son Brian of Denville, his daughter and son in law Eileen and Michael Johnson of Sparta, and two brothers Bernard of Cape May, and James of Beverly Hills, Michigan.
A son Kevin died in March of 1989.
Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday June 19, 2004 at 8:30 AM for a 9:30 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Marys R. C. Church in Denville, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
