Born in Denville to Thomas and Charlene; Kelly was the second of three daughters. From an early age, her strong will was apparent. She always did things “her way”. She was an exceptional athlete, playing softball, basketball & field hockey at Morris Knolls HS and always enjoying a good day of snowboarding. After graduation in 2008, she attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she joined Chi Omega sorority and made friends quickly. Kelly was always surrounded by her friends, and the Harty home was the place to be. Affectionately known to her Kentucky friends as “Jersey” & “kelly bean”, Kelly loved country music and Sweet Tea. She truly became a Southern Belle. She was an inspiration to everyone in everything she set out to do. Her passion for life and learning was truly admirable and she will be missed and treasured by all who had the fortune of knowing her and loving her.
She leaves behind many happy memories to her parents Tom and Charlene; her sisters Bridget Harty and Brenna Rideout and her husband Tyler; maternal grandparents Elbert and Ada Riley, paternal grandparents Thomas and Marlene; boyfriend Don Nichols and their pup Flash; and many, many more loving relatives and friends. Her loyal canine companion Rocky who predeceased her is rejoicing with her arrival.
