Obituary of James M. Elko

James M. Elko, 55, died on Monday March 29, 2004 at St. Clares Hospital in Dover, NJ.
He was born in Dover, NJ, and grew up in Rockaway Boro. He moved to Denville in 1976.
During the Vietnam War he was in the U. S. Army Reserves.
He had graduated from Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, in 1967, and then from Montclair State College in Montclair, NJ with a B. S. in Mathematics, in 1971.
In 1971 he started Teaching for Boonton High School in the Math Department. He has also been a Varsity Basketball and Baseball Coach for the school.
His passion in life has been teaching and coaching children.
He also loved to play Golf and Softball, as well as fishing.
He was a member of: 1) N.J.E.A. New Jersey Education Assoc.
2) The Roc-Den American Legion Post # 175 in Rockaway, NJ.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen nee Andrews whom he married in 1971. His son and Daughter in-law Michael and Adrienne Elko of Rockaway, NJ. His Grandson James Michael Elko also of Rockaway. A brother Robert Elko of Denville, NJ.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial Service will be held on Friday April 2, 2004 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilias R. C. 70 Church St. Rockaway, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
