Mr. John E. Egbert, 98, died at the Tally Ho Manor, Boonton, Twp, NJ on Friday Nov. 14, 2003.
Mr. Egbert was born in the Marcella section of Rockaway Twp. he lived many years in Denville, before moving back the Rockaway Twp. Mr. Egbert and his brother Kenneth and his late father Melvin were all partners in the ownership and daily operations of the Egbert Lake of Marcella it was sold many years ago. Mr. Egbert was a Ford Service Manager for Fisher Ford Co, Newark for 40 years retiring 33 years ago. He was a World War II Us Army Air Corp Veteran. Member for 65 years of the Denville Community Methodist Church and member of their Mens Club and an Usher, member of the Rockaway Twp. Senior Citizens and Denville Golden Age Clubs. Mr. Egbert is a 65 year member of the Jephthah Lodge No 233 F. & A.M., Rockaway, NJ.
Mr. Egbert was the loving husband of the late Luella. His brother Kenneth of Christianburg, Va, his two sisters, Vera E. Lundy of Menteo, NC and Hazel Chambers of Orlando, Fl survive him. Uncle of Lloyd Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Norma Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ (973)-627-1880 on Tuesday Nov. 18th at 9:00AM for a service at 10:00AM at the Denville Community United Methodist Church 190 Diamond Spring Rd., Denville, NJ. Interment Rockaway Presbyterian Church Cemetery Rockaway, NJ. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the above Church address to Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
