Uncle Pat -- we will miss you so very much. But we also have so many warm memories that we'll cherish forever, and pass along to our own children, so they can appreciate what it means to be part of the extended Powers family.

I remember Pat was a warm and compassionate person that encouraged friends and colleagues in many ways. Pat could talk and listen; but he was not the type to look down on anyone's point of view. I admire Pat and wish his family the solace of his leaving this place and meeting with him in another realm.

I remember so many special memories of Mr. Powers from my childhood in Boonton. Some of my favorite memories are the 2 weeks I spent down the shore with the family, my trip to San Rafael to visit, and many special dinners in Lake Valhalla. He always made me feel special and helped Celia and I remain friends over the years by providing ways for us to get together even when we lived far away. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Uncle Pat and Aunt Lil had a tremendous impact on my growing-up years, introducing me to things I might never have discovered otherwise: opera, the well-appointed table, politics and philosophy, the possiblities that lay in the world outside and beyond suburban NJ. Now they are in the world beyond us. And I remain indebted. I will miss them until I join them.
Good night sweet prince... but I still won't ever forgive you for supporting Nixon. (It would not be a conversation between Pat and me without a barb. I can hear his laugh as I write.)

Pat Powers was not only an innovator in construction dewatering, but a catalyst for motivating individuals to think beyond their limits. His wisdom, friendship and ingenuity will be dearly missed.
