Mom,
I'm honestly having trouble accepting that you are no longer here. I don't know that I want to change that. You've been the major source of love that this world had reserved for me and it aches to know that I now need to preserve that on my own. I am struck when I consider a simple thing like sending out pictures of your grandson and am reminded that yours will be an e-mail left unopened.
I now have a way that I've discovered to keep you close to me and I'm sure that it will always help to bring you back. I just think of one of the many pieces of music that I owe to you my love for ... and let it play in my mind ... and then I turn it off and I hear you continue ... 'la da dee, da da da dee' ... and you are fully in my heart again.
I love you mom - I'll hold you here with Dad - in my heart.
your baby

When Sue was in charge of the cub scouts she asked me ifI could help her. Then she went to work and asked if I could take over the troop for the rest of the year and I did. I worked with her at banquets and always enjoyed her humor and company. It is a loss for all those who never met her. Beverly

I am extremely sorry for the loss of Mrs.Smith. The "three amigos'" are now two. I remember Mrs.Smith, Mrs. Heller, and my mom, Betty Hoffman, sitting in the car for HOURS, talking before the first one was dropped off after work. They were always there for each other. They were the best of friends. My prayer's are for all that Mrs. Smith left behind. She is in a better place. We will all see her in the future. I Thank Mrs.Smith for being a great friend to my Mom. We will both miss her.
Most Sincerly,
Denise Hoffman

Dearest Family- Susan was a very elegant and loving woman. She will be so missed by all of us who were blessed to know all her beautiful qualities and dignity - We hope the passage below gives comfort at this time to all of you as it reminded us of your mom so much too-
The young mother set her foot on the path of life.
"Is this the long way?" she asked her own Mother.
And her Mother said "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. So she played with her children, she fed them and bathed them, and taught them how to tie their shoes and Pray and ride a bike and reminded them to feed the dog, and do their homework and brush their teeth.
The sun shone on her little children, and the young Mother cried, "Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the nights came, and the storms, and the path was sometimes dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew her children close and covered them with her arms, and the children said, "Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come to us."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the little children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary too. But not too weary to help her children. But at all times she said to the children, "A little patience and we will be there."
So the little children climbed, and as they climbed they learned to weather the storms. Year after year, the Mother showed her children faith, compassion, understanding, hope, but most of all....unconditional love.
And when they reached the top they said, "Mother, we could not have done it without you."
The days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she became little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And the mother, when she lay down at night, looked up at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned so much and are now passing these traits on to there children."
And when the way became rough for her, her children lifted her, and gave her her strength, just as she had given them her strength so many years ago.
One day they came to a hill, and beyond the hill, they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And the mother said: "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children and their children can walk with dignity and pride, with her heads held high.
And the children said, " You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates." And the children stood and watched their Mother as she
went on alone, and the gates closed after her. And the children said: "We cannot see her, but she is still with us . A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence."
Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, she's the colors of a rainbow, the beautiful sunset in the sky, she is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every
tear drop. A mother shows every emotion..........and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good
feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first love, your first friend.
Nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space...............not even death!
We loving hearts and tearful eyes- Gina, Tom and Alexa

It only seems like yesterday that I met your mom again at the graduation party up at Hamburg before Dave moved to Florida. She always had a secret formula for not looking her age. 73 years young.Always vibrant and out-going. A great mom.
There is nothing that I can say that will ease the pain that you are going through right now. I can only remember the pleasant times that I had knowing your mom. I will pray for her and for her loving family.
I can only be thankful for knowing her and her family. I wish everyone the best.
