Alice M. Scutari (O’Rourke) passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ
on February 4, 2013, at the age of 81.
Born in County Cavan, Ireland, she had come to the U.S. at the age of 9 months and lived in
Manhattan and Bowie, MD before moving to Rockaway Twp., NJ in 1978.
Alice worked as a client representative with J.P. Morgan in NY City and then was employed by C.& P. Telephone in Washington D.C. before becoming the facilities manager at the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother Convent in Denville, NJ.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway and was a member of their Women’s Circle; she also volunteered helping to feed people at the Regency Grand Care Center in Dover, NJ.
Alice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Nicholas F. Scutari of Rockaway Twp., NJ.
She is also survived by her children Anne Pope of Litchfield, CT, and Nicholas “Chip” and his wife Shannon Scutari of Scottsdale, AZ. Her grandchildren Michael, Jack and Blaise Pope all of Litchfield, CT and Nick Scutari-Dunn, Katharine Wilhelmsen and Miles Scutari all of Scottsdale, AZ and her siblings Fr. Peter O’Rourke of Happauge, NY and Anne Dillon of Rockville Centre, NY also survive her.
Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Friday February 8, 2013 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, and then going to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-5PM.
