Obituary of Herbert John Adickes

Herbert John Adickes passed away at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center in Denville, NJ. He was 93 years old. Born in New York, NY he had moved to Smoke Rise, NJ in 1954, before moving to Denville in 1996. He was a Graduate of Colgate University in 1932. He was the president of T.A.P.P.I. (Paper Industry Trade Association). He was also the first president of Kinnelon Public Library in Kinnelon, NJ. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Marine Corps. He had worked as an International Consultant for Bulkley, Dunton, Linde, Lathrop in New York before retiring in 1987. He is pre deceased by his wife, the late Virginia Aiken who passed away in 1996. Surviving are his daughters Leslie Schmid of Pittsburgh, PA, and Merrill Rich of Titusville, FL And his grandchildren Ben & Becky Rich, and Karl & Alec Schmid. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 23, at 10:00AM at the Smoke Rise Community Church. A private interment will follow at Wood Lawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
