Mrs. Casetta, Rose and Lorenzo, your husband and father was a larger than life legend. Growing up I remember the garden, all the amazing food, the great footwear and shoe lessons (I loved the smell of the shop and knowing he was working hard but still had time to chat with customers) but most importantly, the values he instilled in his children. I am sorry for your loss and offer condolences but am so grateful for knowing such a Denville icon and his children.

Al was a great friend to his neighbors and his community. I will miss seeing him with Rita out on their walks, and I will always remember the amazing gardens he would plant and raise year after year. He was always kind and friendly, even when our wiffle balls ended up in his yard. My condolences to the Cassetta family. Al - It was a full life, well lived - you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Mr. Cassetta will be missed. I can remember as kids stopping by the house when kids still did caroling and they had hot chocolate for everyone.

I was most fortunate to meet Al back in 1980 when I needed shoe repair. That meeting started the longtime of sharing our Italian heritage, cooking, gardening, wine making and so many other things. He loved so many things but above all his family. The pride and love for his children and grandchildren shined forth every time he spoke of them. His smile and laughter were a joy to experience. I am most grateful and blessed that is his love, joy, laughter and great Spirit touched my life. His presence will be missed dearly but his legacy of love live on in his wife, Rita, his son, Lorenzo, his wife and children and daughter, Rose, her husband and children as well as all the family, friends and community whose lives he touched. Thank you, Al, your love is a blessing that is eternal. Rest in peace, friend.
