Obituary of Anthony Verderano, Jr.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Verderano, Jr., beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 89. Born on August 22, 1935, Anthony lived a life full of laughter, love, and cherished memories. His journey came to an end on September 25, 2024.
Anthony was a man of many passions, none more prominent than his love for golf, where his exceptional skills matched only by his dedication to the sport brought joy to countless sun-drenched days on the course. He revelled in his Sundays, eagerly watching football, his face lighting up at each exhilarating play while sharing laughs and heartwarming moments with family and friends.
As an avid bettor, Anthony found joy in the thrill of track horse racing. His lively spirit found further expression in excursions to Atlantic City, where he enjoyed both the excitement of gambling and the simple pleasure of strolling along the boardwalk. Escape became with fine dining; he took great joy in sharing meals with those he cherished.
Beyond his leisure pursuits, Anthony was known for his impeccable homemaking skills, tending to every detail with a caring touch. An exceptional handyman, he could effortlessly fix any problem. Most importantly, he was a culinary maestro, especially when it came to Italian cuisine, creating flavors that transformed family gatherings into delightful feasts.
A lover of the arts, he cherished nights spent attending breathtaking shows in Atlantic City and Broadway. The stories, melodies, and performances he witnessed fueled his zest for life, reminding us all to appreciate the beauty of the moment.
Anthony's adventurous spirit shone bright during his countless travels with his dearest companion, Patricia. Together they made treasured memories on scenic drives down the Pacific Coast Highway, basking in the beauty of the Bahamas, and exploring the vibrant city of San Francisco. Their shared laughter and love filled their travels with warmth, an eternal bond that inspired all around them.
Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, his family is comforted in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved brothers Johnny and Joseph Verderano and his parents Anthony and Anna Verderano. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Patricia Verderano, his devoted son Richard Verderano, his Sister in Law Gail Verdi and her husband Edward Hyde.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a public visitation on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday October 3rd at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia Church, Rockaway, NJ. Entombment will be immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Anthony’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Associations by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation.
