Peter J. Doherty, 77, died at the Franciscan Oaks Assisted Care at Denville, NJ on Sunday June 15, 2003. He was born in Hillside, NJ and lived in Newark until moving to Denville eight tears ago.
Mr. Doherty was the Maintenance Supervisor of all the Newark Housing Authority in Newark for 25 years, retiring 23 years ago. Mr. Doherty was a World War II US Army Veteran.
Mr. Doherty was the husband of the late Janet E. Doherty, father of Joseph Elsman of Boonton Twp., and Denise Doherty Strelecki of White House Station. Also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is the brother of Joan Doherty of Toms River.
All funeral and interment services are private. The family suggests the in lie of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Assoc. 400 Morris Ave., Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
