I have always believed that some people here on Earth were sent down from heaven to make life here so much better for the rest of us. I've known only 4, one of which was my mother, Rita, and Little Rita, Rita Ferraris. Always smiling whenever I saw her...always had a good word for you and for those around us...had a wonderful sense of humor and strength and honor mixed in with the sparkling personality. She did not miss anything happening unless illness held her back(which she did not like at all). She lived here with us at FH for several years and, with no effort at all, made friends with everyoneus.. Rita was so special--it was impossible not to see that. And she shared her gentle but feisty and shining spirit with all around her. Now she is back in heaven. To her beautiful family and to all her loving friends, you had an angel in your midst who brought the grace of heaven with her and touched us all with its fire. RIP, little Rita, thank you sincerely for every glowing moment you gave to us all.

Rita will never be forgotten as she was a one of a kind. A legacy in Denville. Seems like she was just always there. Giving so much to her family. Early memories were of seeing her taking care of my neighbors, the Toriellos, children. I know she did the same for the Mulligan boys. When our first born came along in 2004 her and Pat Mulligan were among the first to visit. They were there at his baptism and after party at The Tourne. Outside of those memories it was just the norm to always see her together with Mrs. Mulligan. The two of them together was a double dose of big hearted, caring and joy filled special human beings.
The best to family and all her close friends. Scott MacKinnon

Mrs. Ferraris was the greatest Mother not just to her own but to all of us children in the neighborhood. One of the most wonderful families we had. So honored to have been a part of the family. My condolences to all of you.
Love,
Debbie Garrison

My dear friend Rita for over 50 years, we shared many memories. Some of them walking on the boulevard in Mountain Lakes. Babysitting for my children whenever I needed you. Your many New Year's Day dinners at your house on River Road. I will miss our daily phone calls where we were never at a loss for words. Most of all I will miss your friendship. Until we meet again my friend, I love you. Love, Pat
