Obituary of William Eugene Tonero
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of William E. Tonero, who passed away on January 21st, 2024. William, better known as Billy, was a kind man who was dedicated to his work and his community. From coaching town sports leagues, to starting his own business in town, Billy was a Denville resident; through and through. He was an avid sports fan and took many trips down to Florida to watch the Miami Dolphins play and to get a few rounds in at his favorite golf courses. His love for sports made him a great mentor for the young athletes he coached. He acted as a coach for the Denville Little League, the Blue Angels, as well as at Morris Catholic High School. Billy decided in 1995 to open Affordable Appliance where he would spend almost 4 decades repairing and maintaining appliances throughout the Denville area.
Those who remember Billy knew him as a hard worker and a kind man, and though we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited again with those who came before him, including his mother, Carolyn Mae Tonero. It is now that we look to his family to carry on his memory. Billy’s survivors include his father, William C. Tonero, Jr., his sister, Tammy Rogalsky (Barry), his nieces and nephews, Jackalyne Wing (Josh), Barry Rogalsky, Jr. (Erica), Robert Rogalsky (Jerica), his great niece and nephews, Bradley & Ryan Wing, Lily Rogalsky, as well as a wealth of friends and neighbors who will remember him fondly.
