Obituary of Gertrude M Yansura

Gertrude "Sukie" Yansura passed away peacefully in Boonton, NJ on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the age of 86. Gertrude was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

 

Sukie grew up in Boonton, NJ where she lived for many years until she and her family moved to Denville. She worked locally as a registered nurse at Saint Clare’s Denville hospital for many years. She was happily married to the love of her life Leo Richard Yansura for 54 years. Sukie was a wonderful mother to three children whom she was always involved with. She would often volunteer for their bake sales, PTA, and bingo. When she was in the kitchen you knew she was cooking something good. She was a musical soul and anytime music was playing, she was dancing. Sukie loved animals and enjoyed watching the birds and deer. She also liked to watch the Mets, play crosswords, and solitaire. Most of all Sukie cherished their family vacations yearly to Cape May, where they would spend days by the ocean together as a family. Through all of this she was always a Devoted catholic to St. Mary`s R.C. Church in Denville, NJ.

 

Her memory will live on through her three children Mary Beth Baxter (Michael Cox), Glenn Yansura, and Tracey (Jack) Colfax. Her loving sister Christina (Jim) Fisher and her beloved cousins Johanna Traficante and Bill Sloan. As well as many loving nieces and nephews.

 

All service for Sukie will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being accepted in her memory to the Alzheimer`s Association and can be made through way of inmemof.org.
