Obituary of Michael E. Collins
Michael E. Collins, our strong and fierce Irishman, has left this earth while his wife was holding his hand. In 1966, Michael joined the Denville Police Department. He worked there for 30 years before retiring as Lieutenant in 1996. He was very active in his community, having been President of Denville Rotary, was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, and involved with the Denville PBA #142.
His loving wife Mary Ann and family and friends are mourning his loss deeply. He taught them great words of wisdom to live by. He loved them greatly. He was a father, a stepfather, a grandfather, a “Pop Pop”, a great-grandfather, a brother, a brother-in-law, an uncle, had great friends, and was the proudest person ever. He loved old trucks, he loved riding his Harley Davidson, building additions to his homes, and Bruce Springsteen. He was a private person which was so important to him. If you are one of those left to mourn his loss you already know this. Rest in peace and may the road rise up to meet you, my love. You will be terribly missed by all who knew you.
All services will be private. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Michael’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Jude Honors, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 with the PDF included above, or by clicking here.
