Obituary of Fred R. Kostialik
Fred R. Kostialik peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He lived a full life of 89 years. He created unconditional love, laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born in Kliestina, Slovakia to the late Andrej and Katarina Kostialik, Fred was the youngest of three children. At the age of 9 months, his family immigrated to the United States. Fred graduated from Passaic High School and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Upon returning home, he joined his brother in a successful roofing business. Shortly thereafter, Fred met and married his best friend, Linda Lutcza. Together, they owned and operated Garfield Aluminum Products for over 35 years. Their secret to a happy marriage was to “leave work at work” at the end of each day.
Fred worked hard to build a fun and beautiful life for his family in Rockaway. He taught his children the meaning of hard work, as the family cared for many animals at their small farm. He enjoyed long walks on the beach, hiking in the woods, and watching the clouds from his hammock. Above anything else, his family was his pride and joy.
Fred was patient, kind, strong, adventurous, easy-going and a gentleman in every sense of the word. We will never forget his contagious smile, many witty quotes, and the way he made us feel so special and loved. He will be sorely missed and forever treasured in our hearts, souls, and memories.
Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents and siblings. He leaves a lifetime of joyful memories to his beloved wife, Linda; his loving children, John Kostialik and wife Tedra, Fred Kostialik, Kim Grosch, Andrew Kostialik and wife Jodi, his cherished grandchildren, Janeen Pietraszkiewicz and husband Matt, Dustin, Thaddeus, Cassidy, Kendall, Jared, Andrew, and Nicholas Kostialik and Douglas Grosch; his treasured great-grandchildren, Kalei and Jakob; and many more dear nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27th from 4 - 7:30pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, February 28th at 10 am at the Funeral Home.
